本季第3場先發，大谷翔平漸入佳境，前5.1局投出「完全比賽」壓制太空人打線，最終6局投球狂飆12次三振僅挨1安，在6：0領先時結束投球工作，有機會中止開季2連敗拿下本季首勝。

大谷翔平開局連飆2K，僅花10球投出3上3下，2局上太空人首位打者吞下「3球三振」！3、4這兩個半局，大谷翔平飆出連6次三振！5局下1出局再連飆2K，前5局大谷翔平讓太空人打線15上15下，6局下飆出單場第12次三振後挨了安打，結束5.1局的「完全比賽」，最終大谷6局用了81球，其中55球是好球。

天使打線1局上就火力全開！單局打了11人次，大谷翔平連2打席都上壘，一次選到保送、一次敲出二壘安打，天使6：0領先。
